Fugitive caught after updating his status on Facebook

The assistant US attorney who helped find the fugitive described how the fugitive’s updates described lazy days on the beach and wild nights on the town. “He was making posts about how beautiful life is and how he was having a good time with his buddies… He was definitely not living the way we wanted him to be living, given the charges he was facing.”

More Than Half of All US Companies Ban Twitter at Work

Reported by a study commissioned by Robert Half Technology, 54 percent of U.S. companies state they have banned employees from using social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook while on the job. The study also found that 19 percent of companies permit social networking use only for business purposes, while 16 percent allow restricted personal use.

Personality plays part in heart attacks

A study by the Chinese University shows personality plays a big part in deaths from heart attacks. It found a third of heart disease patients in Hong Kong are more likely to have a heart attack or die if they have what’s called a Type D personality – meaning they’re more anxious, pessimistic and hostile.

The CEO of Flirtomatic — a mobile flirting social-network startup — has attracted fifteen million USD in revenue by selling flirting and virtual goods. “You can’t really call it a dating service, because very few of our users ever meet in person,” Curtis says. “We’re more like a social network for fun.” In Asia, purchasing virtual goods on mobile social network games have been part of youth culture for almost a decade. With companies like Flirtomatic, the virtual-goods category seems poised to enter more mainstream populations across the globe.

Mainland censors approve Jackson film

The Michael Jackson documentary, “This Is It”, has snapped up one of the last of China’s 20 annual foreign movie import slots. A Sony Pictures executive says the Chinese censors approved the film before the weeklong National Day holiday, clearing it in time for its global release on October 28. Sony Pictures says it’ll give the movie as wide a release as possible because of Michael Jackson’s big fan base in China.
